Equity
Equity is a key component of the climate change problem; it reflects the problem's complexity and strives to solve the problem's inherent unfairness: it is multifaceted and addresses a variety of issues. A call for an equitable climate change regime connects a number of issues that invoke equity: first, equity is important to protect the most vulnerable people from the negative effects of global warming; second, equity is important to provide distributive justice among current and future generations. Third, equity is used to guarantee that the bargaining process is inclusive and transparent.
