Climate and Energy Solutions
An additional human related cause of climate change is the excessive burning of fossil fuels. As fossil fuels are burned, they release large amounts of carbon dioxide, which is a greenhouse gas, into the air. Greenhouse gases have great ability to trap heat in the atmosphere, causing temperatures to rise all over the world, or global warming. In addition, other energy production facilities have burned materials that come from plants (biomass) and municipal and industrial wastes. The contents of these gases when these fuels are burned are Carbon dioxide, Carbon monoxide, Sulfur dioxide, Nitrogen oxides, particulate matter and heavy metals such as mercury, which trap heat in the atmosphere and cause global warming. Some solutions to these poor energy productive methods are:

1. Managing and Reducing Emissions.
2. Increasing Energy Efficiency (reduces greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere)
3. Purchase Renewable Energy.
4. Conserve Energy
5. Minimize car trip mileage. Promote carpooling, walking, cycling or using public transportation.
